Warnings Signs Of A Stroke

by kt on December 4, 2011

PAY ATTENTION TO EARLY WARNING SIGNS OF A STROKE:

Case Study: An everyday BBQ at a friends house, where lady stumbles and falls.  Someone offers to call an ambulance, but she convinces everyone that she is fine and that it is her new shoe’s that made her fall.  She seems a little pale, so her husband helps to brush off her clothes and pick a new plate of food for her.  Later, her husband called later to say he had taken his wife to the hospital and that she had died at 11 pm !

She had suffered a stroke

A neurologist says a person who gets a stroke should be treated within 3 hours to be saved this means that we must all be aware of whether a person gets a stroke!

A quick test anyone can do to establish if a person is suffering a stroke is:

  1. Ask the person to laugh – They won’t be able to do this
  2. Ask the person to say the alphabet or complete a sentence – They will struggle
  3. Ask the person to raise both arms – It is not quite as it should be
  4. Ask the person to stick out their tongue – It will roll and squirm in their mouth

If we share these tips with as many people, we could save more lives – and possibly our own!

I read these tips on a friends status update on facebook, I believe everyone can benefit from knowing this so I invite you to copy the tips and share them with your family and friends!

It could happen to anyone! Stay Safe! Look after each other!

Now the mangos are back in season – it’s the perfect time to make your own dried fruit and rollups!

Recently one of my nearest and dearest, Ollie – made some beaaauuuuutiful mango rollups – with our local produce from this region. As we were all gushing over yummy fruit rollups, one of Ollies friends told us about how her Gran makes the most delicious fruit rollups I can’t wait to share it:

Sour Sop, Mango and Jackfruit in the foodprocessor together – then dried flat in the dehydrator, when dried sprinkle grated coconut and sunflour seeds, then rolls them up!!!

YUMMER!

Can’t wait to test this one out over summer! Sounds Divine!

I think I’ll use my favourite toasted shaved coconut! I’m thinking of fresh organic macadamia nuts instead of sunflower seeds, what do you rekon?
